About Image Merger
Merge multiple images in split layouts (2 or 4 images).
The tool is designed to process data in the browser unless the interface explicitly states that a network request is required.
How to use this tool
- Enter or select the image, photo, picture value you want to work with.
- Review the available settings, then run the merge action.
- Review the merged image, collage output and use the copy or download action when the tool provides one.
What you can do with Image Merger
- Combine four photos
- Join two images
What this conversion does
Combine two or four images into a single picture — side by side, stacked, or in a 2×2 grid — and export it as PNG, JPEG, or WebP.
Example input
Two 800×600 photos, layout: 2 images, orientation: horizontal, resize: preserve original
Example output
One 1600×600 image saved as merged-image-<timestamp>.png
Practical workflow
- Pick a layout: 2 images or 4 images (always a 2×2 grid).
- For the 2-image layout choose horizontal (side by side) or vertical (stacked).
- Click the upload control in each slot; every slot must be filled before merging.
- Choose how sizes are handled — keep originals, normalize to a preset (512, 1024, 1920×1080, 2048, or custom), or set each slot width and height in Custom Size — then pick PNG, JPEG, or WebP, click Merge Images, and download.
Common use cases
- Put a before-and-after pair next to each other for a product page or social post.
- Build a four-photo collage from screenshots without opening a desktop editor.
- Stack two tall mobile screenshots into one image for documentation or bug reports.
Important notes and limitations
- Merging happens on an HTML canvas in your browser; the images are never uploaded.
- The quality slider (default 92%) applies to JPEG and WebP only — PNG output is always lossless.
- Changing the layout clears the loaded images and the merged result, so choose the layout first.
- The canvas background is white; there are no transparency, background-color, or spacing controls. Changing output settings clears the result until you merge again.
Continue your workflow
- Image Converter — change the merged file to another format afterwards.
- Aspect Ratio Calculator — work out the target size before you normalize the images.
Frequently asked questions
How do I merge two photos side by side online?
Choose the 2-image layout, set the orientation to horizontal, click each upload control and choose one photo per slot, and click merge. Download the result as PNG, JPEG, or WebP.
What happens if my images are different sizes?
Pick a resize mode. Preserve keeps every image at its own size, Normalize scales all of them to the same dimensions (auto or a preset such as 1024×1024), and Custom lets you enter the slot width and height or adjust the resize handle.
Can I merge more than four images?
No. The tool offers a 2-image and a 4-image layout. For larger collages, merge in two passes: build two 2×2 grids, then merge those two results side by side.
Does the merged image lose quality?
PNG avoids additional lossy export compression, but resizing can still change pixels. JPEG and WebP also use the quality slider (default 92%). The output canvas has a white background.
