About Timestamp to Date Converter

Convert Unix seconds or milliseconds to readable dates and back.

The tool is designed to process data in the browser unless the interface explicitly states that a network request is required.

How to use this tool

  1. Enter or select the timestamp, epoch, date value you want to work with.
  2. Review the available settings, then run the convert action.
  3. Review the timestamp, date, unix time output and use the copy or download action when the tool provides one.

What you can do with Unix Timestamp Converter

  • Convert epoch to date
  • Turn date into unix timestamp

What this conversion does

Inspect a numeric timestamp as ISO 8601, UTC text, or a date in your browser's local time zone.

Example input

1735689600

Example output

2025-01-01T00:00:00.000Z (ISO 8601)

Practical workflow

  1. Enter the numeric timestamp and confirm that Timestamp to Date is selected.
  2. Use Auto detect for typical current timestamps, or explicitly choose Seconds or Milliseconds.
  3. Select Local time, ISO 8601, or UTC text and copy the result.

Common use cases

  • Convert log timestamps into readable dates during debugging sessions.
  • Check token expiration timestamps in OAuth and JWT authentication workflows.
  • Calculate exact human dates from database records.

Important notes and limitations

  • The tool converts values entirely client-side without sending data to servers.
  • Supports standard UTC representations and locale-specific date formatting.
  • The last input, direction, format, and unit are remembered in browser local storage. Clear the input on a shared device.

Frequently asked questions

Can I convert current time to a timestamp with one click?

Yes. The Now button fills the input with the current time. In Timestamp to Date mode it uses milliseconds only when that unit is selected; otherwise it uses seconds.

What is the Year 2038 problem (Y2038)?

Signed 32-bit Unix seconds overflow on January 19, 2038. This browser tool uses JavaScript Date and can represent dates beyond that boundary; it does not repair a 32-bit field in another system.

Does this converter produce relative time or SQL DATETIME?

No. Its date formats are Local time, ISO 8601, and UTC text. Use a dedicated formatter if your receiving system needs a different format.
