About Internet Speed & Latency Test
Test your download speed, upload speed, ping latency, and jitter in real-time.
This network tool sends requests to the destination selected by the user. Do not submit secrets you do not intend to send.
How to use this tool
- Enter or select the internet connection value you want to work with.
- Review the available settings, then run the test action.
- Review the download mbps, upload mbps, ping ms output and use the copy or download action when the tool provides one.
What you can do with Internet Speed & Latency Test
- Test internet speed
- Check download speed
What this conversion does
Measure your connection's ping, jitter, download speed, and upload speed in the browser against Cloudflare's speed-test servers, with quality ratings for streaming, gaming, and video calls.
Example input
Click Start on a home fibre connection
Example output
Ping 18 ms · Jitter 3 ms · Download 640.2 Mbps · Upload 42.8 Mbps · Streaming: Excellent
Practical workflow
- Close bandwidth-heavy apps and downloads so they do not distort the result.
- Click Start. The test runs ping, then download, then upload automatically; you can stop it at any time.
- Read the gauge and the four metric cards, then check the Streaming, Gaming, and Video calls ratings.
- Run it again from another room or on Ethernet — the last five results stay in the session history for comparison.
Common use cases
- Confirm you are getting the speed your ISP plan promises.
- Diagnose lag in games or video calls by looking at ping and jitter rather than raw bandwidth.
- Compare Wi-Fi and wired performance, or the same connection at different times of day.
Important notes and limitations
- This tool sends real traffic to speed.cloudflare.com: five small requests for latency, six parallel download streams for about seven seconds, and repeated 16 MB uploads for about seven seconds.
- Download speed is the sustained figure — the mean of the fastest 70% of samples — not a momentary peak. The gauge scale adjusts between 50 and 1000 Mbps.
- If a phase fails (blocked network, captive portal) the card shows Error instead of an invented number. Results are kept in memory only and disappear on reload.

Frequently asked questions
Why is my result lower than my ISP plan?
Wi-Fi signal, other devices, VPNs, and the server's distance all reduce measured throughput. Test on Ethernet with nothing else running before concluding the plan is under-delivering.
What are good ping and jitter values?
The tool rates gaming as Excellent up to 40 ms ping, Good up to 80 ms, and High Latency above that. Jitter under 10 ms is comfortable for calls and games.
How much data does one test use?
Roughly the download speed times seven seconds plus the upload speed times seven seconds — on a fast connection that can be several hundred megabytes, so avoid running it on a metered mobile plan.
Which server does the test use?
Cloudflare's speed-test endpoints, which route to the Cloudflare data centre nearest to you. No EasyConvert server is involved.
